Day 6
Well looked at the salt lick and they have been licking it....good boys.they just L O V E the hardfeed. I have put the magnesium in and a little bit of natural wormer to assist their digestive system...They are just having it mixed into lucern chaff with a handful of pony pellets and a minute dollop of molasses....they have just about licked the bucket clean...ad lib hay. These chaps are very easy to take the wheelbarrow etc in and out....this morning the Big Boy was whinneying at me when he saw me getting the hay and then tonight the smaller one was wickering at me when I stood in the gateway between the 2 pens...so I think we should be able to get quite a bit closer to them very soon...I always am either side on to them or have my back to them when I am just lounging around the pen in the hope that they will come right up to me very soon....the little chap has stepped forward quite a few times now....there really isn't any reason for them to be scared of us now...they are accepting us so graciously. Gypsy certainly thinks they are pretty good....she's been prancing around a bit today...maybe need to get them gelded pronto (well as soon as we have prepared them for that...first halters and then the usual ritual tapping the neck (the vet does that when they sedate them) moving them about on a lead...teaching them to follow the feel etc etc...so hopefully we can do that soon. Another positive today was LOUKA"S COVER IS STILL INTACT ...yay I think he thinks he looks too cool to damage this one.
