Day 5

Wednesday - today Lynn did the early shift poo picking, feeding and getting to know the boys. We are both really confident that they have settled enough to allow us into their space now....and it's nice to have some time on your own with them too.....Louka has demolished his cover again today...Really can't work out what's happening with them but suspect that he rolls and it swings off to one side and then Sarg and him play this game..."How to get Louka's cover off"...Oh well- got another one today- hopefully it will last a bit longer....Sarg and the others have never wrecked their covers so I can't quite figure out what's going on with them.....they tend to do it when I'm out of sight. Cheeeeky!!!  When I arrived home the fertilser truck was whizzing up and down the paddock right beside the yards- BUT any worry was just human junk-  The horses didn't bat an eye...they just watched with interest...I suppose what they have just been through and the trucks and army artillary they have seen would make this so insignificant to them- it's only humans that worry over such trivia.  Today Big Boy has been walking toward me when I go into the yards with the wheelbarrow to clean up....saw a couple of worms today (about 4 altogether). They have been muching hay and just love it when I turn the hose on into the trough....both of them always come to drink when I fill it. I forgot to look at the salt lick to see if they have had a lick. Megan took Sarg out for a walk today- Gosh he looks so good at the moment- really rich chocolate brown.  Louka looks as though his legs have grown again...might be that new cover though- this one has belly straps so it tucks in under the tummy....Hope it's still in one piece tomorrow morning.
