We christened the roundpen on Saturday with a BBQ...Today Dennis attached a copper plaque to the rails and also put a big square totara seat and some boulders under the tree for us to sit on...It looks wonderful.
I have had Sarg & Gypsy down in their new summer paddock by the bridge, but have moved them again tonight as it is raining AGAIN...I put them into the haybarn paddock & I'd forgotten that I had also put the big Parelli ball in the hayshed...all was calm until Sargeant went to get some hay and spotted it rolling around in there. Hahahaha he grew quite tall and pranced around like a stallion back and forth and then Gypsy decided to do a bit of rolling while this was going on...Sarg stopped the prancing to have a roll as well...then they both got up and pranced back and forth for a while- I waited for them to stop before I went into the shed and bounced the ball away from them- then towards them rolling and bouncing it at the same time- when they settled into a phew is that all and everyone had relaxed again I rolled it over the fence and let them come up and touch it before I put it away....Every day I have got them a little more used to it and always put it away when they have accepted it and settled down...I have to roll it past Noa & Louka to put it in the barn and they don't bat an eye at it. I walked and trotted Sargeant out on the driveway today- as if we were in a show- Need to get practise in as we will be at the A & P show next week..He doesn't seem to mind me taking him away from Gypsy so that's a good thing too. Groomed him yesterday and pulled some of his mane..I want to do a bit at a time- he doesn't mind it at all but my fingers get very sore. He just LOVES the grooming....I have kept his cover on for about 2 weeks now and he certainly looks pretty good.
Louka only has a belt of fluff now around his middle..It just doesn't want to come out no matter what I do...Noa is looking quite stunning & I think he knows it too...Both these 2 are getting very colty now...playing all the time and looking full of the joys of spring.
