Alisha & I decided we would groom the horses today and practise some of the tips & tricks we learnt from the KWHWT grooming course. Del came for an hour and we all bathed Noa- after a little bit of tooing and froing Noa realised that the bath was actually quite nice...then Del had to go to work at the kennels...Alisha & I bathed Louka BUT he would only allow us to do the front half..head shoulders and back, so we have to try again tomorrow for the rest of him His fur is still hanging on tight, so it's not easy to groom him and I don't want to pull too hard, so we are just doing as much as he can handle...He did however handle the water being tipped onto him and then dripping everywhere, he loved his head being washed too....He is quite a different colour underneath- where his legs were a grey/dunn colour- they have turned an amazing coppery/liver colour- most unusual colour...He is adjusting to our lifestyle quite well now...He has such a lovely little heart and he gives us lots of trust now.
We also bathed Gypsy who thinks she is a little Princess and revels in all the beauty therapy- she looksamazing!!!! And then came Sarg- well he was a little upity- but once he got over being itchy and then drippiing he settled into the grooming again and he looks amazing too...we siliconed his tail and mane took off the chestnuts, trimmed all his little feathers and brushed him again once he was dry- it took all our witts to stop him rolling in the yards, but we managed and he relaxed into the brush strokes.
