Friday almost a week since the kai's arrived.

These two are looking a bit bedraggled today in the rain!!!!

Every day is getting easier for them and for us.....Lynn had already been early this morning and mucked out and fed these 2....It was awful weather last night again, and it looks like the weekend is going to be a bit the same...Dennis lit the fire in the barn for me today- mmmmmmmm toasty warm in there when I come in from talking leaning and generally housekeeping the yards....the little chap managed to get the courage to step towards the wheelbarrow today- and not move away- he came within a foot of my outstretched hand- palm up but not jerking away...Wow ..he nickers at me - not quite a whinney yet...and big boy whinneys to me and to the other horses....I really want to get them out onto the smaller paddock asap, so hopefully we will make furher progress in letting me touch them very soon. They both really love the hard feed, so that's a real bonus- it took Sarg & Cinney a lot longer to trust that stuff. Once they are in the paddock we can make it much more interesting for them by putting tarps down - cones in there- drums and maybe the ball....The ball moves so it might be a good idea to have that in the yards beside them to start with- then let them touch it before putting it out there for them to play with it.
