Porky Gypsy

I tried a wide gullet saddle on Gypsy today and she was so free moving it was amazing.
Gypsy had always been wonderful with a big stride - great mouth - beautiful canter etc...but just recently I felt that the saddle was sitting too tight on her shoulder...she was swishing her tail, flinging her head around and on the downhill she was either rocketing downhill as fast as she could or side stepping and definitely letting us know that she wasn't happy....As she has never behaved this way previously I didn't think it was just the fact that she hadn't been ridden a lot- she really wasn't happy at all... I So thankfully Michelle loaned me her wide gullet wintec to try and sure enough she was moving brilliantly and was definitely feeling happy- she had that beautiful movement back.  I have to now work out if I want to sell my western saddle and go for a barefoot treeless, which really does appeal to me...but I need to do a bit more looking first.
Sarg's muscles are now developing beautifully- he has good butt muscles now and his shoulder muscles are starting to develop really well, so we have put the lighter GP on him now too.  We found that he is much better being ridden bareback, so took a closer look at the stock saddle on him.  While it seems ok he seems a lot happier in the GP so we will ride him in that instead- otherwise it will have to be bareback until I can afford another one for him too.
Louka is now just drop dead gorgeous, and so is his nature....He has finally coloured up into a light chestnut with that amazing sickle shaped blaze and 4 white socks....He has such a lovely calm manner, and it seems nothing fazes him too much either.
