Rain- wet- mud is it winter or spring?

This week has been so changeable- weatherwise that I am pleased to just stay inside...thankfully the horses have sheds to go into to get out of the rain- it's just been bucketing down...I have had 3 grandchildren to stay and they have been incredibly well behaved considering the weather..Haybarns and farm activities still keep these 3 happy- YAY!!!!  The horses all enjoy the extra attention..Noa loves to be right there with them, although I do have to make sure they know the safety rules as both Noa and Louka are becoming very colty now...They nip and circle and push and shove each other playing and rearing all over the place...Interesting that they still lie very flat in the paddock or the yards when it gets really windy- they don't always stand with their tails to the rain and wind.  Louka's coat is changing so rapidly now- his legs have white socks and where they were grey they are now a deffinite chocolate brown and it looks as though he will be quite a dark chestnut elsewhere- we'll see when it all comes out...Noa has that lovely soft velvety coat with an amazing mane...he is sooo easy to groom- just loves it...Louka does too but he prefers me to do it and sometimes he hates me doing some areas- so it's approach and retreat for ages and ages until he allows me to get to the spots I want to....today there was no way to get to his tail and there was dock caught in it- so it will just have to stay there until after the markets tomorrow and we will try again. Oh come on summer - Dennis is putting the rails on my roundpen -woohoo- we have the sand- so it's just a little more compacting to do before that goes in and we are away...can't wait....Look out Sarg you will be working before you know it....It will just be sooo good to get these guys going....they need to teach me a lot more!!!!!
