Noa & Louka

Noa & Louka arrived 60June 2009 straight from the Muster & overnight stay in Huntly. There's Sargeant on the other side of the yard- he did the meet & greet....I think he knew where they came from....Louka the yearling with the most amazing markings was lame & had a gash on his left front leg...but was as right as rain again after 2 days- Homepathics in the trough- & his incredible immune system..His blaze is something else- it's the shape of a sickle- we were gonna call him "little Turk" but it kept getting shortened to "Turkey" so I changed his name to "LOUKA"

"NOA" is a bay approx 18months old- has a beautiful head and is very well proportioned- I think he'll grow to about at least 14.2hh. He was such a laid back dude.. David Marshall put his halter and leadrope on for me- no fuss- on in a very short time..he loves to be brushed and handled...really loves the fact that we care for his every need- food, grooming, introducing him to all sorts of things...he is just so calm and you would swear he had done all this before. he hasn't been gelded yet, but I could most probably put him up for rehoming already.

BUT Louka WAS using his survival instinct - he wasn't about to trust anyone if HE could help it....think he was also very protective of that sore leg- he didn't like to let you on that side at all. BUT with a lot of love and patience David put the halter on him, but he still didn't want to have much to do with us- but bit by bit-ever so patiently we were able to touch him- then a neighbours daughter came over and he fell in love with her and she cuddled him and talked into his ear and ever since he has got better and better. He is now first into the yards and stands steady while the halter goes on - he's a very clever little chap- and so unusual in colouring I can't wait till he sheds his winter coat and we can see what coulour he is likely to be...he has 4 white socks-black hooves, he's grey/dun from the sock to the knees, then his underbelly is a creamy colour with an unusual browny chestnut head and back...it looks as though someone has drawn black around his nostrils and mouth- he has a beautiful eye too....wow what a mixture. He's very inquisitive but instead of coming straight up to have a look like Noa he stands back a bit and really sizes up the situation first...
